HAMDEN, CONNECTICUT - Sunday afternoon in Hamden, Connecticut, the Gryphons women's hockey team wrapped up their three-game NCAA preseason road trip with a 6-1 loss to the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Quinnipiac boast the No. 4-ranked women's hockey team south of the border.

The Gryphons were outshot 31-7 on the day but were able to find the back of the net against the Bobcats thanks to a second period goal from second year centre Karli Shell.

The Gryphons will now return home for a pair of preseason games at the Gryphon Centre to wrap up their exhibition schedule. The Gryphons host Windsor (Oct. 1) and Ottawa (Oct. 2) this coming weekend, and will then open up their regular season on Friday, October 7 in London against the Western Mustangs in a re-match of last year's Queen's Cup.
