ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Friday night in upstate New York, the Gryphons women's hockey team lost 2-1 to the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers in preseason action.
The Gryphons, who are now 0-2-0 in preseason play, scored their only goal of the game late in the third period after having pulled their goalie. The extra attacker gave the Gryphons a 6-on-4 advantage as they were already on a power play, and it would be rookie
Sydney Davison (Oakville, ON) scoring her first as a Gryphon.
Valerie Lamenta played the entire game in net for the Gryphons, making 24 saves in the loss.
Friday night's game marked the first of a three game trip against NCAA opponents for the Gryphons. Up next, a visit to Penn State University on Saturday for a 4pm puck drop versus the Nittany Lions.
