TORONTO, ON - Saturday afternoon at Varsity Arena, the Gryphons women's hockey team suffered a 1-0 loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 2-1-1 on the season.
The lone goal of the game came from U of T's fifth-year forward and team captain Kristi Riseley 4:03 into the second-period.
Shots on goal were tied 23-23, with
Val Lamenta making 22 saves for the Gryphons and second-year Blues netminder Valencia Yordanov notching her second shut out of the season.
The Gryphons will be back in Toronto on October 29, this time to face the Ryerson Rams.
