Kingston, Ont. (October 1, 2016) - The No. 2 Guelph Gryphons women's rugby team (4-0) defeated the No. 5 Queen's Gaels (2-2) on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 50-5 at Nixon Field in Kingston, Ont.
The first try of the match was put down by Alexandra Everette and the Gryphon conversion was made by Alexandra King making the score 7-0 Gryphons. Continuing the half, the Gaels held strong after giving up points early but the No. 2 Gryphons scored an additional try and conversion taking a lead of 19-5.
The Gryphons charged ahead in the second half, pouring on an additional 31 points through the second frame. The Gryphons got their scoring in the second half from on five tries and three conversions making the final score of 50-5 for the No. 2 Guelph Gryphons. Â
Alex King lead the way for Guelph with four conversions and two tries in the match while Devon Stober also scored a pair of tries.
