HAMILTON, ON - Sunday afternoon in Hamilton the Gryphons men's volleyball team lost in straight sets to the top ranked team in the country in the McMaster Marauders. Set scores were 22-25, 15-25 & 21-25. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 4-8 on the season while the Marauders improve to 14-0.

Dallas Keith had a team-high 9 digs. The Gryphons currently sit 9th in the OUA standings, with the top seven teams earning a spot in the playoffs. The Gryphons will have a huge opportunity to try to make up some ground and move back into the playoff picture in their next match when they travel to Western to take on the 7th place Mustangs (6-6). That match is scheduled for Friday, January 29 at 8pm. The Gryphons and Mustangs have already met up once this season back on October 30 at the W.F. Mitchell Athletics Centre. In that match, the Gryphons fell behind two sets to none but stormed back to force a fifth. Their comeback would fall short however as Western took the match in five. The Gryphons will look for some revenge on January 29 when they travel to London. The Gryphons still have eight games remaining on their regular season schedule are will be looking to get back to the OUA playoffs for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
