Waterloo, ON - Friday afternoon in Waterloo the Gryphons Women's Rugby team improved to 3-0 with an 81-3 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks (2-1). The Gryphons, who are ranked No. 3 in the CIS, have now outscored their opponents 294-to-3 this season after winning 125-0 over Brock in their first game and 88-0 over Western in their second game. Leading the way for the Gryphons on Friday afternoon was
Kendra Blackbourne (Georgetown, Ont.) and
Daria Keane (Sarnia, Ont.). Blackbourne, a third year wing, posted 21 points off of one try and eight conversions, while fifth year 8-man Keane put up fifteen points from three tries. The Gryphons will be in action again on Friday, October 2nd when they once again travel to Waterloo, this time to face the University of Waterloo Warriors. That match is scheduled to start at 4pm.
