Box Score Trois-Rivières, Que – Friday night the Gryphon men's hockey team faced a tough test as they travelled to Trois-Rivières, Quebec to take on the first place team in the OUA's East division – the 10-1-1 UQTR Patriotes.
The Gryphons were able to tie the game at 1-1 after a goal from second year defenseman Steven Strong (Oakville, Ont.). But after re-taking the lead in the second, the Patriotes would pull away in the third with three goals in the period. UQTR would win it 6-2 to improve to 11-1-1. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 3-8-2.
The Gryphon men's hockey team will now make the two hour drive from Trois-Rivières to Montreal where they will take on the Concordia Stingers Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
