Guelph, Ont. – After going 3-0-1 in their previous four games, the Gryphons came out flat at home against the Varsity Blues on Thursday night, losing 7-2 at the Gryphon Centre.  With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 3-4-2 on the season. 
 
The Varsity Blues jumped all over the Gryphons early.  Already leading 1-0, U of T would score two goals in 20 seconds to take a 3-0 lead.  With six seconds remaining in the opening period, the Varsity Blues would add another to lead 4-0 after 20 minutes.  The Gryphons would never recover.
Teal Burns (Victoria, B.C.) and MacKenzie Nichol (Listowel, Ont.) both scored, providing the lone bright spots on an otherwise dreary night for the Gryphons.
 
This game marked the opener of a four game home-stand for the Gryphons who will take the ice again next Friday (Nov. 7) when they host McGill.
