Men’s Hockey: Gryphons win 4-1 over UOIT

Box Score
Guelph 4 – UOIT 1

Oshawa, Ont. – Playing for the second time in as many nights, the Gryphon men's hockey team showed no signs of fatigue as they skated past UOIT 4-1.  Former Toronto Marlie Kyle Neuber (Sarnia, Ont.) led the way with two goals on the night.  Carlos Amestoy (Toronto, Ont.) and Nicholas Trecapelli (Guelph, Ont.) both finished with multi-point nights.  The Gryphons now sit at 3-3-2 on the season.  Andrew D'Agostini (Scarborough, Ont.) turned away 33 of the 34 shots he faced to earn the win.  The game was closer than the final score indicated as the Gryphons clung to a 2-1 lead in the 3rd period.  After a number of good scoring chances by UOIT, the Gryphons would get some insurance at the other end when Neuber's wrap-around attempt made it a 3-1 game.  Michael Stevens (Brantford, Ont.) would add an empty netter to seal the victory.  The Gryphons will hit the ice again on Thursday (Oct. 30) when they host U of T at 7:30pm.
