Gryphons shut out by No. 4 Lions

Toronto (October 4, 2014) – The Guelph Gryphon women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 final Saturday afternoon to the nationally ranked York Lions at York Stadium. The Gryphons drop to 4-6-1 on the season while the Lions move into first place in the OUA West standings with a record of 10-1-1.
 
The Gryphons had a hard time stopping Lions forward Nour Ghoneim who scored both York goals on the day in the 24th and 38th minute of play.
 
Gryphon goalkeeper Elizabeth Brenneman played an excellent game, making eight phenomenal saves and denying the Lions 12 shots on net. Lions goalkeeper Courtney Davis worked hard to earn the shutout making one save in the win.
 
Up next the Gryphons host Algoma October 10th at 4:15 p.m. at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.
