Sudbury, Ont. (January 4, 2013) – The Guelph Gryphon men's hockey team opened their 2014 regular season against the Laurentian Voyageurs Saturday night and were looking to earn their first win in the New Year. The Gryphons were unable to stop the home team as they jumped out to an early lead and in the end the Voyageurs defeated the Gryphons 4-1 at Countryside Arena in Sudbury. The Gryphons fall to 7-6-2 on the season while Laurentian moves to 5-12-0.
 
The Gryphons outshot the Voyageurs 35-29. Ken Peroff scored the lone Gryphon goal in the third period. 
 
The Gryphons continue their road trip tomorrow playing Nippissing in North Bay at 7:30 p.m.
