Of the 47 Gryphon Track & Field athletes who made their way to Toronto this past weekend for the CIS Championships, only one came away having made multiple trips to the podium. Third year standout Katelyn Ayers takes home Gryphon Athlete of the Weekhonours after earning a Silver in the Women's 1500m and a Bronze in the Women's 1000m.

During her Bronze medal performance in the 1000m, Katelyn came through with an outstanding run in what was a stacked field in which the Gold medalist broke the CIS record and the Silver medalist narrowly missed it. Ayers, who was also a Second Team All-Canadian on the Gryphons Cross Country team, competed in a total of four events over the weekend at the CIS Track & Field Championships and collected 14 individual points along the way as she helped the Gryphons women's team finish 2^nd overall in the team standings.
