BEN ROBERTS, SWIMMING

Second year swimmer Benjamin Roberts earned four medals this past weekend at the OUA Swimming Championships hosted by the University of Guelph. Roberts earned an individual gold and silver and two relay team gold medals at the three-day event. In the men’s 50m backstroke he dominated the race from start to finish, sealing the deal with an outstanding kickout to take the gold medal with a time of 25.38. In the 100m backstroke, he finished with a silver medal (55.40). The Kingston native was also a member of two gold medal relay teams. On Saturday night he anchored his 400m medley relay team to a gold medal as they broke an OUA record with a time of 3:42.67. He was also a member of the gold medal 200m medley relay team.
