Luke Woud has been a huge part of the resurgence of the Gryphon men's volleyball program in 2014-2015.  After going just 5-15 a year ago, the Gryphons have already surpassed that win total and boast an 8-4 record this season, putting them in a tie for fourth in the OUA standings, and just one game back of second place in the conference.  On Saturday (Jan. 10) Luke played a huge role on both sides of the ball in helping the Gryphons defeat the Varsity Blues 3-sets-to-1, as he racked up 14 kills to go along with three stuff blocks.  What is most impressive about Luke's performance in 2014-2015 is the fact that he has been adjusting to life at a new position.  The Uxbridge, Ontario native spent the first two years of his career as a middle blocker but this season was moved to right side hitter, and the transition has been seamless.  At 6-foot-9, not only has Luke racked up 67 kills on the season, he has also continually showcased his ability to come up with blocks or alter shots at the net.  The third year Real Estate and Housing major has 11 stuff blocks and 27 block assists on the season, both are team highs.
