Trevor Thompson – Forward Trevor Thompson (Burlington, Ont.) led the way for the Gryphons with 17 points, nine rebounds and two assists in an 89-61 win over Algoma in the Gryphons home opener Saturday night (Nov. 15). Thompson and the Gryphons got off to a hot start, outscoring the Thunderbirds 28-9 in the opening quarter. In the second quarter, Thompson would show off some great strength and determination to get a tough lay in to go, plus the foul. He would make good from the line to complete the three point play. Thompson finished a perfect six for six from the free throw line. Thompson also showed off his ability to do some damage on the inside and outside by connecting on three pointer late in the opening quarter. With the win, the Gryphons sit at 1-2 on the young season.
