Fourth-year standout Carise Thompson won two medals in leading the Guelph Gryphons women’s track and field team to a gold medal finish at the 2014 CIS Championships this past weekend in Edmonton.
 
The Orkney, Ont. native kicked off the meet earning a silver medal on Friday in the 3000m race with a time of 9:33.98. She wrapped up the meet on Saturdaywith a bronze medal finish in the 1500m race with a time 4:26.98.
 
With 96 points, the Gryphons claim their second women's team title in program history, after winning their inaugural championship following the 2007-08 season.
