Fourth-year standout Andrea Seccafien won three gold medals in leading the Guelph Gryphons women’s track and field team to an OUA title at the 2012-13 OUA Track and Field Championships this past weekend in Windsor.

A Guelph native, Seccafien opened the two-day meet with a gold-medal finish in the women’s 3000m event (9:37.15), defending her title from last year. She is the CIS No.1 ranked athlete in the 3000m race. Later that day she ran on the gold medal winning 4 x 800m relay (8:59.23). On Day 2 she won her third gold medal of the meet in the women’s 1500m (4:28.66). This win was critical, putting the Gryphons back in contention to win the team title.

Seccafien and the Gryphons will be off this weekend as they prepare for the CIS Championships hosted by the University of Alberta from March 7-9.
