ADVANCED DANCE
This course is designed for those who have had previous dance experience and are looking for an opportunity to participate in a more challenging program.  Course content includes a smorgasbord of dance styles including ballet, modern jazz and hip hop.  The focus of the content will be determined by the class.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

BALLET
A class geared towards participants with minimal or no dance background.  An introduction to the basic elements of ballet technique including the positions of the arms and feet as well as body alignment.  Throughout the term participants will progress through simple exercises as well as centre work where participants will learn variations of ballet movements, including adagio and allegro.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

BALLET ADVANCED
This course focuses on furthering your knowledge and experience in classical ballet.  A focus on technique and artistry requires that you have a background knowledge and experience in the art of dance.  The choreography will be more intricate but will be taken at a pace appropriate for learning.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

BOLLYWOOD FUSION
Bollywood Fusion is a mixture of various Indian and Western forms of dance.  Encompassing both traditional and modern forms of dance, Bollywood fuses all styles but is distinct in its beauty.  This class is a great way to get some exercise and relax your mind and body.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

CLUB DANCE
Looking for something new? Club Dance is a new class offering dance lessons in hip-hop, break, house, techno, tektonic and more! Be exposed to a wide variety of dance movements and styles! Build up your own individual style and floor and develop the skill to be able to rock the dancefloor downtown Guelph, Toronto, Los Angeles or anywhere in EUROPE! Club Dance is like no other class you have taken before with a unique teaching style and a keen direction to teaching useful movements that you can use to wow crowds! Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE
This NEW class is for students with previous dance experience who are looking for a challenge. The course content is based upon more difficult, intricate and stylized lyrical/contemporary and open movement pieces. The students will participate in warm up,  strengthening exercises and learn a different choreographed dance each week. Prerequisites: Preferably Advanced Dance or Advanced Ballet at the University of Guelph Athletics Centre.   Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

GLOBAL DANCE
Global Dance is difficult to describe, but very fun and easy to do!  Every class is set to different songs that explore the elements of earth, water, fire, and air.  Class begin with flowing yoga postures and then lead into more interactive, playful and free movements, involving your whole body.  The class ends with a relaxation and time for meditation to integrate your experiences.  No yoga or dance experience required!  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

HIGHLAND DANCE
A great chance to learn one of the Scottish Performing Arts while getting lots of exercise.  Fun, traditional dances such as the Highland fling and the sword dance will be taught.  All levels of experience are welcome; however this class is instructional for beginners.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

HIP HOP
Each class varies with instructor, however the general format will consist of a hip hop cardio warm up, choreography of a dance combination, followed by a stretch and tone portion.  These combinations will be a blend of hip hop, rap and R&B music with a focus on footwork, isolations and development of individual style and flow.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

HIP HOP ADVANCED
Combinations will focus on more advanced hip hop choreography.  Previous hip hop experience is required. Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

JAZZ
Designed for those with little or no training in modern jazz dance.  An introduction to the various elements of modern jazz.  Includes warm up exercises, rhythmic exercises, isolations and dance combinations.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

ORIENTAL DANCE LEVEL 1
This cultural dance form is officially termed Egyptian Raks Sharqi and is commonly referred to as bellydancing.  All students studying "Raks Sharqi" - Oriental Dance are introduced to basic Egyptian style and Salimpour technique.  These two techniques are integrated to give students a well-rounded and diverse knowledge of Egyptian technique, as well as a variety of other traditional and folkloric dance styles from the Middle East.  Students will learn isolation work, taxim, drum solo, multi-faceted beginner techniques, and Veil and Zyll work.  Requirements:  Hip scarf and bare feet.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

SALSA
Sexy, spicy, and stylish, salsa dancing has become wildly popular around the world.  From nightclubs and lounges to wedding receptions and tropical vacations, this exciting dance has captivated millions.  In this class, students with little or no salsa experience will learn the basics in footwork, partnering, and timing as well as fundamental turning and crossing techniques.  Signing up with a partner is strongly suggested but not required, as partners will rotate during the class so that lead/follow skills can be developed.  This class will introduce you to one of the hottest Latin dances and give you the confidence to use your new moves on the dance floor.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

SALSA ADVANCED
Designed for participants with prior salsa experience and a firm grasp of fundamental footwork, partnering, and simple turn/cross patterns.  Variations on existing techniques will be introduced in combination with new turns and steps to provide a wider variety of moves to use on the dance floor.  Participants will continue to improve their timing and refine their salsa technique.  Signing up with a partner is strongly suggested but not required, as partners will rotate during the class to further develop lead/follow skills.  Class size:  Min. 15,  Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

SEDUCTIVE DANCE

Dance that is fun, flirty, and playful.  Designed to be an extremely fun class while you learn the seductive aspects of dance.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

SOCIAL DANCE

This class provides exposure to a variety of dance styles with an emphasis on an introduction to basic steps and techniques in the Ballroom and Latin dances.  Although it is not necessary to have a partner, you may wish to register in a pair.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.

SWING DANCE

This is a lively, fun class that provides an introduction to the basics of swing dancing with a focus on the dances of the 30's, 40's and 50's. Includes the charleston, balboa, jitterbug, shim-shim-shimmy; all amalgamated into lindy-hop.  Signing up with a partner is suggested but not required.  Class size:  Min. 15, Max. 30.  Includes 10 classes.
