General Information
TEAM CAPTAINS’ RESPONSIBILITIES:
DUTIES:
•
Make sure that ELIGIBILITY FORMS are completely filled out and emailed
back to Intramural office prior to their first regular season game. Not
doing so will result in a $5.00 fine.
• Only
players listed and have signed on the form may play. Any person not on
the team entry roster is INELIGIBLE. Additions may be made at any time
in the season before taking part in a game. (A player participating in
any game, whose name is not on the list, may result in a loss for the
team). Players who have not signed the sheets prior to playing
their first game will NOT have that game counted for them. It is
the captains’ responsibility to let their players know to sign the
sheet.
• Make sure that all team members are aware
of the rules governing the specific activity/sport, date, time &
place of all scheduled games.
• Check the schedule
with the team for any academic conflicts & arrange rescheduling
with the Intramural Office and the other team (at least 1 week in
advance). A rescheduling fee of $5.00 will be applied for all sports
other then ice hockey which will result in a $20 fee. (Rescheduling is
not guaranteed)
• Sign out the necessary equipment
for the team well ahead of game time (i.e. pinnies), accept
responsibility for such equipment, and ensure its' return.
Student ID is necessary to sign out equipment!
•
Prior to each game, ensure that the game scorecard is "filled out"
completely. Each team member must initial beside his or her name.
If name is not on the card please report to the intramural office to be
issued and ‘okay to play’ slip.
• Following the
game, both captains must sign the score sheet to confirm that the game
is recorded correctly and give officials’ ratings. Comments can be made
on the back of the scorecard if necessary.
•
Captains are urged to notify all players and fans that alcohol is
prohibited on all Intramural playing fields and that no one is allowed
to participate while under the influence of alcohol.
• Ensure that all members of the team conform to the Intramural Policy and Procedures.
• Attend any Protest & Appeals Committee meetings involving your team or members of your team.
• Ensure that all referees and other participants are treated with respect.
