Gryphon Logo Usage Guidelines

 

 

 

 

CORRECT LOGO USAGE

The Gryphon logo is the Guelph Gryphons’ most important product symbol. It is a prominent part of our identity and branding in the marketplace. All finished communication materials and products must show the Gryphon logo cleanly and plainly. The Gryphon logo must be integrated into the overall design and function of all communication materials. It must reflect through all advertizements, promotions, events and fixturing. The Gryphon logo is a registered trademark, exclusively for promoting University of Guelph athletic and recreational programs. No person and/or organization may use the Gryphon logo or an image confusingly similar with the Gryphon without written approval from the Department of Athletics at the University of Guelph.

GRYPHON LOGO USAGE GUIDELINES

• Do not use the Gryphon to promote an event or service that is not officially sponsored by the University of Guelph's, Department of Athletics;
• The Gryphon logo is registered by the Department of Athletics at the University of Guelph. The registered trademark symbol must appear on all Gryphon logos at the outside of the left paw;
• The Gryphon logo must always face to the left and must appear parallel to the top of the page or screen. The logo must not be flipped and/or rotated;
• The Gryphon logo must not be combined or integrated with any other logos or graphic elements without written consent from the Department of Athletics;
• When using the Gryphon logo, choose the highest resolution appropriate for your use; minimum size 2.5 mm for print, 81 pixels for web;
• The Gryphon logo must not be altered or distorted in any horizontal and/or vertical dimension;
• The Gryphon logo must not be animated;
• The Gryphon logo must not be used as a background for text;
• The integrity of the Gryphon must remain intact and distinctive when printed over photographs or other images;
• The Gryphon logo must remain separate on all sides from text and other graphic elements by a space equal to its height.

• The Department of Athletics official colours are black, red and gold;
• Pantone — Black (0C); Red (186C); Gold (123C);
• CMYK — Black (100K); Red (0C, 100M, 81Y, 4K ); Gold (0C, 24M, 94Y, 0K);
• RBG Colours — Black (0R, 0G, 0B); Red (227R, 25G, 55B); Gold (255R, 211G, 28B).

INCORPORATING TEXT WITH THE GRYPHON LOGO

• The Gryphon logo must always appear on its own, free of text;
• The Gryphon logo must remain separate on all sides from text and other graphic elements by a space equal to its height.
• When incorporating text, the Official Gryphon font must be utilized.

OFFICIAL GRYPHON FONT

• The Official Font of the Department of Athletics is Serpentine Medium Bold;
• This font must be utilized for all copy and/or text within the Department of Athletics;
• For example, this font must be used if the text “Gryphon Basketball” was to appear on the front of a t-shirt.

 Any departure from the guidelines within this section without prior approval from the Department of Athletics at the University of Guelph is prohibited.
